Welcome, nerdz!
Last week we were tasked to make a podcast. We had 4 options, 2 of them requiring a partner. The options were a vox-Pop, "60 sec idea to improve the world", creating a song, or a sound-rich story. With my pair Tuğba, we chose Vox-pop. The question we asked was "If you had a time machine, which year would you want to go, and why?". Out of 10 people, the most of the participants wanted to travel to past. The reason behind was they want to experience the atmosphere and culture of the past.
Even though there are possible hardships, such as writing a script or not finding an idea, we had none. We asked our friends to send us their voice recordings, since they were really apart. We recorded our voices together, in an unoccupied classroom. Then, she combined the voice recordings and added a theme song. We had fun during the task.
Whether I would give this type of a task as an assignment or not depends on the proficiency of my audience. If they are complete beginners, I would avoid this task. But if they have a higher level of proficiency, it's a suitable task since they need some experience to be able to come up with a question, ask the collection, collect the data, and present it.
By the way, don't forget to check out our podcast.
